Home sweet home

Jason and I had the opportunity to visit my hometown of Chattanooga, Tn this weekend. We met at UTC and moved to Nashville after graduation. Anyways, Jason's fraternity had a alumni function saturday night so we left Landon with the grandparents and headed to Chattanooga. First we meet some friends for dinner

Shannon, Alicia, Emily and I. Shannon and I met in middle school. Alicia, Emily and I met in high school. So we all have been friends for at least 15 years or more

Alicia, Emily and I were all in each others weddings

Jason and I

After dinner we walked to Chattanooga cupcakes. O my word it was so GOOD!!

So cute!!

We headed to our hotel room around 1:30am. I have not been up that late since Landon was a newborn. I was a trooper and kept going. haha ;o)

This morning we drove to our alma mater, UTC

So much has changed since we graduated 6 years ago. New buildings are going up everywhere. When I was a student we had around 5,000 students. Today they have 10,000 students.

We drove by my old sorority house. ADPi's have been in this lodge since the 1960's. They recently sold the building to UTC and are building a new house that can be lived in

Lot where the new house will be built soon

Fraternity and sorority recruitment was this past week. We drove by Patten Chapel and running out the doors was going on. This is where the freshman going through recruitment accept their bid into a sorority and run out the doors to the sorority they choose. I did this 10 years ago. I cant believe it has been 10 years. It's so fun and very exciting. I will never forgot my time at UTC

Running out the doors

We headed home early. We were missing Landon like crazy. It was great seeing old high school and college friends and visiting our old Alma mater, but I had my time there and Im loving my life right now.

Lesson learned

I had another lesson learned experience this morning with Landon.
I was leaving Landon at Jason's parents house this morning so I could do some errands. I left the car on to get the AC going while I put the car seat in another car. I knew Landon was in the front seat "driving" and playing with the buttons. All the sudden I heard the car door slam shut. At that moment I just knew he locked the car. I went to check the doors and sure enough he locked all the doors with our little dog locked inside. So my car was running with all the doors locked and Zoey locked inside. OMG!! What do I do? We were not home so I did not have a spare key. The AC was on so I knew Zoey was OK, but the car is running and I have no key. I called the police station and its illegal for them to unlock cars so I had to call a lock smith. The lock smith came and within 2 minutes had my car unlocked. Lesson learned.

Marker Madness

Look who got into the sharpie again

Showing his art work on his nose

This boy LOVES to color

No matter how hard I hide the markers he still seems to find them.

On another note;

The new coffee table went back to American Signature today. I LOVED the table and it is so my style, but the color was way off. Compared to our couch and the entertainment center it looked to black. Since I have to look at it every day and pay for it, I want to be happy with my choice so it went back. I'm still on the look for a new table that matches just right. So this is what I'm looking at now.

I had to show my new pillows. I found these at Ross. The blue and green matched perfectly in our new living room.

My boys!!

Landon really LOVES his daddy and daddy really LOVES Landon. These guys are two peas in a pod. When Jason comes home from work Landon yells "daddy daddy" and runs to the back garage door. Here are a few pictures of Landon and daddy hanging out.

New couch and coffee table

I feel like we have finally completed our living room. We started painting in January and bought our flat screen in February. We have been working on the room since then. The couch was our last purchase and it was delivered today along with our new coffee table.

We picked a chocolate brown couch with carmel cording. It's ALL pillows and very comfy.

The table may go back. When I looked at it in the store I was trying to match our entertainment center. When it arrived today it so does not match. The table looks more black compared to the couch and entertainment center. I'm going to sleep on it tonight. We will see.

View coming in from the front door

We bought both pieces at American Signature Furniture. It feels nice to finally have the room completed. Next on my list is painting our guest bathroom walls and trim. I love home improvement projects!!

Trick or Treat

Halloween is just around the corner and I have looking at the costumes they have out this year. I was looking at Pottery Barn Kids online and saw this

Isn't it cute?

Last year I dropped the ball and forgot about finding Landon a cute trick or treat bag. So I just bought the .99 cent plastic one. This year I'm on it and found this cute treat bag with his name on it. They have some really cute bags this year. I ordered Landon's Easter basket from PBK and was very pleased with the quality, so I'm not going to miss my chance on this one.

I'm so ready for fall!!

On another note. I had my second set of x-rays on my hand today. The bone is healing very well. Only 3 more weeks in my splint.

Have a good weekend!!

1st day of school

We survived the 1st day of mother's day out or "school" as we call it. Landon did great, which I knew he would. He took a great nap on his mat and didn't need his boo all day. My partner and I had a great 1st day with our 13 four year olds. It's going to be a great school year.

Back to school

Landon and I are headed back to school tomorrow. Landon will be in the 2 year old class and I am down the hall teaching 4 year old this year. This year his class sleep on nap mats. I bought him a nap mat and a Cars cover and had my good friend monogram his name on it.

Ready for back to school

Naked stage and lawn chairs

Landon is in the naked stage. Where he likes to take off all his clothes and pull-up and just be naked. I was in the kitchen and noticed it was way to quiet so I walked into the living room and saw him watching TV and eating a snack NAKED!!

Zoey is Landon's best friend when food is around

So far he just does it at home. Never a dull moment around our house.

Notice we are sitting on lawn chairs in our living room? We sold our sectional last week. I posted it on craigslist and sold it that same day. So we have not had the chance to look for new living room furniture. Breaking my hand has also caused a minor set-back this week. Landon is going to his Nana's Saturday so Jason and I can shop all weekend. I hope we find something we like, I'm pretty tired of sitting on lawn chairs.

Say hello to my little friend

I went to see an orthopedic doctor this morning, he looked at my x-rays and confirmed my broken hand bone. It is a straight break so should heal nicely and quickly. Well if you call 6 weeks in a splint and on hydrocodone quickly. I go back next friday for more x-rays to make sure its healing properly and take it from there. I have to wear this fancy split 24 hours a day for the next 6 weeks UGH!!
It's amazing how I took my hand for granted now that I am not able to use it. Good thing I am a righty.

My new best friend for the next 6 weeks

I think I sport the look nicely

Just another co-pay

This morning Landon and I were on our way out to do errands. He was sitting in the front seat pretending to drive while I was messing around in the garage. Well I turned around to get Landon in his car seat and lost my balance and fell on the runner of my car. I landed on my left hand and broke it. Yep I am a 28 year old with a broken hand bone. When it happened I knew something was wrong. My mom came to get Landon and I headed to the ER. A two hour wait and three x-rays later I came out with this.

My temporary splint

Hand x-ray

The break on my 4Th finger hand bone. See the black line on the 2ND to the top bone? That is my broken bone.

I have an 8am doctor appointment tomorrow with and orthopedic doctor. More x-rays or cast possibly? I will update tomorrow after my appointment
