I am finally getting around posting Landon's birthday party. Landon wanted it at Jumpers Playhouse again this year along with a Spiderman theme. So that's what we did and it turned out to be a great party. Landon and his little friends had a great time.
Landon's actual birthday landed on a Saturday this year which was perfect.
The cake table
His Spiderman cake. It was the best Spiderman cake I have ever seen.
His name was on one side of the cake
and his age was on the other side
Cupcakes for the adults
Party favors and gold fish
I had Eco friendly snack bags made. Spiderman for the boys and cupcakes for the girls. They are fabric, lined with waterproof material for easy cleaning. They also Velcros at the top. I filled them with Spiderman fruit snacks and some of Landon's favorite candies.
The party room
Birthday boy and cousin Scotty
After jumping for an hour we headed into the party room for cake, ice cream and presents
Baby Houston LOVED cake
and ice cream
Abby can tear up a cupcake
After the party we did gifts at home. Landon got a new Spiderman backpack and matching lunch box
My boys after a LONG, but FUN day
It was a great 4th birthday for Landon. Now on to planning Houston's 1st birthday in 5 weeks.
Well after weeks of having my dining room in shambles, I could not take it anymore. With holidays, birthday parties, family functions, Houston being sick in the hospital and Landon's birthday last weekend I just have not had the time to paint without the boys. So Jason took the boys to swim at his parents house all day Saturday, while I stayed behind and painted all day till it was done.
This is my dining room before
This was the HOT mess I was living with for weeks
I just needed to get started and when I did I was on a roll
The final results. I picked a darker, richer color along with new curtains
I also painted the bottom trim super bright white
If only I could get Jason to install crown molding ;o)
I LOVE my new color and curtains
I hope to have Landon's birthday party post up soon. I am waiting on our photographer to send me the pics. Thanks y'all and have a great week. Only 3 weeks till we go back to school. ;o)
Landon had his 4 year old wellness visit this afternoon. His appointment was at 2pm right in the middle of nap time. BIG mistake on my part for making it that time, he was some what cooperative, but I really think he would have done better first thing in the morning. They asked him to sing his ABC's, count to 10 and recognize shapes, like I said he did these things great, but we had to kinda threaten and bribe him.
Here are his stats:
Weight: 44lbs 2oz---94% percentile
Height: 42 1/2 inches---91% percentile
BMI: 88% percentile
He is in perfect health and we could not be happier. We may have preemie babies, but when their out we sure can grown them, just cant seem to grown them from the inside.
Landon did fail his hearing test in both ears. He has to go back in 3 weeks to get re-tested. I'm pretty sure he can hear well and his doctor did not seem to concerned about it. However in his defense they did ask a no nap 4 year old to sit still and be very quiet for 2 minutes in each ear. He did his best to be still and quiet, but not enough to pass him. Now if he doesn't pass in 3 weeks then we will explore other options.
Also he did not get his 4 year old shots today, since I dropped the ball on getting his shot records from our previous doctor to our current doctor today he was not able to get them. So when we go back in 3 weeks he will get those as well.
So I think that about sums up our visit today. I also got some good advice on this 4 year old attitude and sassy stage were going through right now. She gave me a good support system and information on raising stubborn children.
Today our first born turns 4 years old. How time flies. It's a nasty rainy day in Nashville, so I'm so glad his party is indoors. A fun day at the bounce house and then off to Chuck E Cheese for dinner and free birthday tokens.
Happy 4th birthday Landon!

Happy Birthday Landon!
We LOVE you and cant wait to celebrate your special day with you today.
Well we are finally on the mends and getting over the croup that put us in the hospital for 4 days. Houston had his follow up doctor appointment yesterday and he got the all clear and can re join the human race now. During our stay in the hospital Houston turned 10 months old on July 3. I am a little behind, but hey that's how life is now.
Houston you are 10 months old. Here is what he has have been up to since last month
Weight: 20.7 lbs (they weighed him like 10 times at the hospital)
Clothes: 12 to 18 months
Size 3 diaper, but almost in a size 4
His third bottom tooth has broke through the skin
He has officially said his 1st word and of course it was "da-da". He has said it like a million times and is so proud of him self for learning a new word. His brother's first word was "da-da" also.
He is officially a crawler. He crawls every where and anywhere.
When he falls over he is able to get himself back up to a sit position
He has started the sippy cup and still trying to figure that thing out
He is able to feed himself Gerber Yogurt Melts and LOVES strawberry flavored
Still taking a 7 oz bottle 4 to 5 times a day and eating 3 to 4 baby foods a day
He smiles ALL the time and even sick was always a happy baby. All the doctors and nurses in the hospital LOVED him. I think its because he's cute and bald.
Still bald and still have blue eyes
He LOVES his BIG brother and Big brother just adores him and was so worried about him when Houston was in the hospital
Drools ALL the time
Houston we LOVE you very much and thank God for your amazing progress and health since your early arrival 10 months ago. I cant believe your brother turns 4 years old Saturday and you turn 1 in less than 2 months. I LOVE you both very much. I'm blessed beyond measure.
Jason and I met while attending the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. We were married in April 2005 and had our first child, Landon, in July 2008. We live in Smyrna, TN and enjoy our lives with a energitic toddler.
