Jason took at 1/2 day off from work friday so we decided to take Landon to the Nashville zoo for the 1st time. It was friday early afternoon so it was not crowded, the zoo had a buy one get one free deal that day and it was not to terribly hot. So it ended up being perfect for us. Here are a few pictures from our day together.
We had to start with popcorn and juice
1st stop Alligator Alley
It was flamingo friday
Not so sure about the camel in the petting zoo
OK so I thought this goat was pregnant. I mean look at that belly. Well apparently ths is a male goat. As goats get older their stomach muscles become weak, so this is just fat. Who knew? haha
Birds playing on ground
These birds were loving on Jason
They have a great play area called the Jungle Gym
Running through a snake
Ropes course
sliding with mommy
Going home
We had a GREAT time and will go back soon!!

Show Us Your Life- Master Bedroom
Today on Kelly's Korner its Show Us Your Life-Master Bedroom.
I really have not done much to our master bedroom since we moved into our home 4 years ago.
This is the view coming into our bedroom. We bought our bedroom suit when we married 5 years ago at Haverty's.
The piece of furniture in the corner is our "office". That's were my old computer is stored, printer, bills, pens/paper, etc....
My dresser has several pictures of Landon and few decor pieces
My night stand. The book under the clock is Radical by David Platt. Were are reading it as a church and small group right now
Jason's nightstand
Our armour
I love looking into other peoples homes to see how they live and to get ideas for my own home.
Happy friday!!

Painting
I have been busy the last few days painting our upstairs guest bathroom. When we moved into this home there were 2 rooms we did not paint and this bathroom was one of them. The previous color was tan. I just wanted a change and have something brighter in this bathroom.
Cutting in was the hardest part
The final product
I went with Porter paint in Sea Mint. I tried to match the shower curtain as best as possible
I still need to decorate a little. I'm going to change out the towels and bath rug to chocolate brown to match the curtain
I had to show a picture of my two favorite men reading a bedtime story together. LOVE THEM!!
What do you think of the bathroom makeover?

Crayon Melting
Like all kids, Landon has LOTS of broken crayons that were not being used. Several years ago I heard of the idea of melting your old crayons to make new ones.
First you have to take all the paper off every crayon. This was the hardest part of the process and place them in an old muffin tin. Be sure to spray the muffin cup with non-stick cooking spray before you put the broken crayons in the cup
(please excuse the really OLD and nasty muffin tin. This tin is older than me and has not been used in years. I pulled it out just for this occasion)
Next you heat your oven to 275 degrees. Place the crayons in the oven for 7-8 minutes till melted. I used a toothpick to stir the melted crayon to give it that swirl look
Lastly, let them cool and pop them out of the tin
and there you go!! Just call me Martha Stewart HAHA ;o
Happy coloring

Date night
Saturday night Stu, Ann and Abby came over for dinner and to let the kids play. Landon had his 1st date with sweet Ms. Abby
The beginning of the date
Then the date proceeded to the car
I hope she doesn't see me pick my nose
Alone time please
Listening to music
I think the date is over
We had a great night spending time with the Staples family. Check out Ann's blog post about their date night here
