Wilderness at the Smokies

Last weekend Landon and I along with our good friends Brady and his mom Sarah spend the weekend at the Wilderness at the Smokies. It is Tennessee's largest indoor/outdoor water-park.

Ready for our road trip
As soon as we arrived we changed into our swimsuits and headed for the water parks

They have 2 outdoor water parks and 1 indoor water park

Here are the boys playing water basketball

Our family visited the Wilderness last summer and Landon was a tad to short for sliding on the slides by himself. This year he was just tall enough to go down all of them by myself.

Here is Landon going down alone
It was so fun watching him have a great time. This summer has been the best yet. This is the first summer where he is really able to swim alone and ride all the rides without me
Brady and Sarah

So excited be able to ride together
At night we played arcade games
Lazy river was my favorite
The boys also loved playing on this snake in the pool

We had a great weekend with Sarah and Brady. I am really trying to do lots of fun things with Landon this summer before he goes to Kindergarten in 7 weeks.
Happy weekend!

Change for a Chance 5K and Ladies Night

Over the last 7 weeks I had the privilege to mentor a group of Couch to 5K runners who wanted to race in their 1st 5K. My running group hosted the C25K program and I was placed in a group of about 15 runners. The 3.1 miles that we ran was the Change for a Chance Race. An organization that helps women and children get back on their feet.
This is our running group with all the C25K participates
Two of the runners from my group, who also happen to be very close friends. ;o)
Sarah, Melissa and myself before the race
And after the race. They both did AMAZING for their 1st 5K race. I was so happy to help them along this journey and pace them to a great time

The next night Fleet Feet hosted a ladies night at one of their stores.
They had a planking contest. Lisa and Lauren were our brave volunteers
Lisa held her plank for 6 minutes and came in 3rd place. She's a machine
Great group of ladies from my running club

Happy Monday!

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to the best daddy to our boys

We woke up and the boys gave Jason his father's day present
A large canvas of the Alabama football stadium to hang in his office at work. Luckily its not staying in my house ;o)
Then it was off to church and then lunch at Jason's parents house
The boys are staying at their house for the next 2 days. I'm going to get caught up on errands, look for a new mirror for our guest bathroom, get a pedi and paint our master room lamps. Things that I can just get done a little quicker and easier without the kids.
God blessed our family with a wonderful man who loves the lord and his family more than anything. He is an amazing husband and provider and goes without so we don't have to. Jason was also raised by a man with the exact same qualities and yet again we are truly blessed to have his father in our lives as well.
I am the only child so I was raised as daddies little girl and still am. My dad is a great man that holds many wonderful qualities. What a great example he is for my boys.

Happy Father's Day to 3 AMAZING men in our lives. What great examples they are to both my boys. I hope Landon and Houston grow up to have many of the qualities these men carry.

Happy Father's Day

Random Happenings Part 2

Just an update and some random pictures for today's post

This is how Landon naps these days. If were in the van anytime between 4 and 5:30 he usually falls right to sleep
Speaking of the van. We got a DVD system installed in the van a few days ago. Were going to love this for our long trips were taking for vacation this summer.
I finally hung up my mothers day gift. Jason and the boys had a race medal and bib holder made for me to display my running accomplishments.
I ran through a sobriety check point the other day. That was a first and kinda fun. The things you come up on  while running.
We just completed VBS last week. This was Friday the last day of VBS which was wacky tacky day
I have had this planter for a few years and I really wanted to change it this year. So I decided to spray paint it.
At first I thought I wanted it to be red to match my red front door. Then after I painted it I thought it was too much red on the porch.
So I re painted it this blue color. I like it much better with the flower and my red front door

Yesterday we went out on our friends pontoon boat. Everyone had a blast

Now that VBS is over were now just waiting on vacations to get here.

Landon's Pre-K Graduation

Landon graduated Pre-K last week. We registered him for school 2 weeks ago and now he is officially a kindergartner.
The boys before Landon's graduation program
I have a kindergartner
Ready for the program
The kids sang 5 really cute songs
Then it was time to graduate.
Landon walking across the stage. Out of all the kids he was the very last to graduate. ;o)

After graduation we were able to have a little reception in the church lobby
Proud parents. I hope to have this same picture in 13 years.
His graduation cookie
His diploma and picture

His class at their table

Landon and his teacher Mrs.Ashley. We were truly blessed with Mrs. Ashley. She was the best teacher for Landon.
Landon and one of his "girlfriends"

I am so proud of this little guy and all of his accomplishments he achieved during Pre-K. We are all looking forward to Kindergarten in the fall and all the new and exciting things it ill hold.
