Happy 5th Birthday Landon

Well my family just returned from an amazing beach vacation. We left 9 days ago and returned Saturday night. We went with Jason's sister and her family and we just had the best time with them. The boys did wonderful on the beach and the weather was great. While we were there Landon turned 5 on July 14. Since 5 is a big one I wanted to make it special for him.

My dad lives in FL so we visited him first and Landon rode his first go cart on this birthday
The rest of the day we swam in the ocean and played on the beach
That night the whole family went to eat at Margaritaville
All our family celebrating Landon's 5th birthday

The kids with the balloon artist

One of his presents was a new boogie board for the beach. He's holding up his hands saying he is 5
We returned from the beach Saturday and his birthday party was yesterday
Since we were gone for 9 days I really didn't have too much time to prepare so we just had a little front yard birthday party. The theme he choose was Ninja Turtles

The food table

Drink table with turtle punch
Little goody bags
We just threw the slip n slide and kiddie pool out in the front yard and just let them play and have fun
Little brother had a great time too
Who needs a fancy party? Kids just want to run around and play with their friends
About 10 minutes into the party, the bottom fell out and started to pour rain
The kids didn't care and just kept on playing. No thunder or lighting just heavy rain ;o)

Being on the beach for Landon's birthday and then coming back to have a birthday party was so fun for him. He is the best little boy and I am one blessed mommy.

Now that vacation and birthday are over with, we are gearing up for Kindergarten and looking at school supplies.

Just another manic Monday

It's just another manic Monday at our house, so here are some photos from our crazy weekend.

If Landon ever naps it's usually in the van on our way to or from somewhere
This was after a long day at the pool
One day we filled up the "pool"
The boys still had a great time in the water
I just LOVE babies in sunglasses
We had a great 4th of July. Our friends came over for BBQ and fireworks that night
This was the only family picture I was able to get on July 4th. We were arriving at our college friends home for a cookout
Hurricane Houston strikes again. I put him down for just a second to hang up his bath towel. When I did, he darts back to the bathtub and jumped right back in with brother, fully clothed diaper and all.
I forgot what it was like to have a 22 month old toddler in the house who is into everything
Along with my running I am stepping up my strengthen training and core workouts. Saturday's Crossfit class was tough, but it is an amazing workout. I actually look forward to going and getting my booty kicked.

Happy Monday!

Summer Home Projects

Since I am off work for 9 weeks during the summer I try to work on some home projects.

I bought this letter W on an etsy site, added the burlap and hung on my front door

For the last 8 weeks I have been re decorating our master bedroom. We hired someone to paint it for us back in April and from there I have been adding curtains, new lamps, bedspread, etc...

I have been looking at lamps and the ones I really like are just to pricey for me. So I just painted the lamps we received as a wedding gift 8 years ago and changed out the lamp shade. The lamp shades were $10 each and $8 can of spray paint.

I took down this old builders grade mirror in our guest bathroom

I have patched, sanded and painted the wall. I hope to get our new mirror up this weekend. I finally found one I LOVED at Kirkland's on sale and I had a $10 off coupon. Love a good deal!
The last item I wanted for our new master room was new pillows on our bed. I already had the pillows so I have a good friend sew material over my old pillows
I have no idea how to arrange pillows. I really want the letter's to show so I'm still working on this arrangement.
So those are my summer projects for now. I cant wait to get my mirror hung up this weekend.

Are you doing any summer home projects?
