Christmas Card and Santa Picture

Life has been so crazy the last 6 weeks that blogging has had to take a backseat. Thanksgiving and Christmas were a blur that happened so quickly. As if the holidays are not crazy enough I have decided to train for a full marathon. YES a FULL marathon, that's 26.2 miles folks. I'm crazy I know. More on that later, but here is our family Christmas card and the boys visiting Santa last month.

Not sure why my scanner did not scan better quality, maybe its the type of paper my cards are. I really liked working with this company and I was extremely happy with the end result.

My boys with Santa. Christmas 2013

Another reason I have not blogged so much is that I had to get a new lap top. Our old one crashed along with the old Microsoft programs, so I am having to learn the new 2014 version of Microsoft. Bare with me as I try to reteach myself on this new computer and Microsoft.

Fire House visit

Like everyone else we have been extremely busy and the blog has suffered because of it. I cant possibly post all of last months happenings, so I'm just going to post a few fun things we did.

Towards the end of October our local fire house had an open house for fire prevention week. Landon and I went for a few hours to enjoy some of the activities they had for the families.

Landon spent about an hour in this bounce house
We actually know this firefighter, so he let Landon play with the hose and put out "fires"
He LOVED this as well
And what kid does not like sitting in a firetruck
Or driving one

There was a raffle drawing when we were there and my ticket got picked. I won a very nice first aid kit for the house.

We really live in a great town with lots of fun things to do. Landon and I really enjoyed our time together.

Two work days this week. YAY!!

Halloween 2013 and Pumpkin Farm

On Halloween night the weather was really bad here in Nashville so our community postponed trick or treating to last night.  I really liked it because the weather was awesome and it was on a Friday night so we didn't have to worry about getting ready for school the next day.

Several of our friends came over to our house last night. We cooked hot dogs and chili then we went out to trick or treat.

The kids all dressed and ready to go
The best one I could get of the boys. Isn't Houston the cutest pirate you have ever seen?

The boys did great trick or treating. This was really Houston's first time trick or treating and he LOVED every minute of it. Two kids equals double the candy. It's amazing how much candy they brought home.

Last week we visited a little local pumpkin farm where the boys picked out our pumpkins and mums.
Yet again trying to get them in a picture together is almost impossible
Houston has no interest in pictures as you can tell and Landon wanted to wear his Halloween costume all week. Sometimes you just have to go with the flow.

The best part for the boys was to "drive" the golf cart
And of course to play in the corn

I cant believe its already November

Color Run 5K

So the day after my half marathon, Jason, Landon and I ran the Color Run 5K (3.1 miles) This was mine and Jason's 3rd time running this race and Landon's first ever 5k race.

My little runner the morning of the race. He was so excited and ready to go
At the stadium
Landon wanted to take our picture before the race

About .25 miles into the race his feet started to "hurt" and Jason ended up carrying him some
Jason's sister, his nephew and wife, along with our family friend joined us as well
We had a great time with them

My little family, minus Houston who was with our neighbor that morning
It was fun walking this race with my little family. I was just as excited as Landon was about completing his first ever 5K
He was HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY

The Murfreesboro Middle Half Marathon

Yesterday morning I ran my 6th half marathon or 13.1 miles. It was great weather and a good semi-flat run.

My running group the morning of the race
Alesia and I standing at the starting line
At mile 4 or 5 and feeling good
Towards the end
We finished 13.1 miles all before 9:30 am
Jane, myself and Sandy. We all meet through running. I love these ladies
Same race exactly 1 year ago. This was my first half marathon Oct. 2012.

I did not get a PR (personal record) for my half marathon time, but I did PR by 14 minutes from last years race. Over all it was a great day and run.

Nashville Women's Half Marathon

This past Saturday several ladies from my running club along with myself ran the 13.1 miles through HILLY downtown Nashville. The weather was perfect for running that distance and the company along the course was great.

The day before was HYDRATE HYDRATE HYDRATE
All the ladies before the race
My good friend Suzanne was able to get a bib into the race 24 hours before. She decided to do the run with me. She did not train so we just did a fun run for the whole 13.1

All the women at the starting line. There were probably several more thousands of ladies behind me.
Suzanne and I had a great time on this course. We stopped at all the water stops, walked the hills and stopped at mile 10 for this picture
Running past the capital at mile 11 or 12
Were finished!!
Showing off our race bling and enjoying the champagne at the finish line
Hands down the best medal I have ever received. A must race for next year.

My next half marathon is next weekend, Oct. 12 in Murfreesboro. Two half marathons within 2 weeks of each other. Bring it on!! ;o)

Date Knight

I cant believe I have not blogged in 2 weeks. With baseball, running, church and just life the blog is taking a little back seat. I'm back and I will play some catch up this week. Two Saturdays ago Landon and I attended an event called Date Knight at our local Chick-fil-a. It was an event they hosted for mother and sons. Our date was great, but as soon as we arrived and sat down Landon ditched me for the indoor playground.

We always love an appearance from the cow
Being knights

Good thing my friend Suzanne was there so I had someone to talk to since Landon ditched me for the playground.

We love chick-fil-a and support them probably more than we should ;o)

I ran my 5th half marathon today in downtown Nashville. More on that to come. This girl needs a shower and nap.
