Busy Weekend

We had another busy weekend. Jason was off work on Friday. He takes about two Fridays off a month from work and we usually try to do something fun with the boys. This time we went to downtown Nashville to a really neat kids science museum called, Adventure Science Center. It's nothing but hands on for kids and its super fun for the adults as well.

Landon's favorite part of the whole 3 story building is the ambulance you can "drive". It was at one time an actual ambulance. They have made it into a fun place where the kids can "drive", it also has lights, horn, sirens and a CB radio. Right up Landon's ally.
Fun with a wind machine and beach ball
Me at the dinosaur exhibit
Landon was able to be a volunteer in the science show

Houston was very excited ;o)
After our visit we had a nice little picnic lunch outside the museum and then headed home to beat Nashville traffic
Saturday Landon's good friend Brady came over to play for a few hours
Saturday night Houston had his first taste of pizza and like all Warf men LOVED it
Sunday Jason took Landon to get his new baseball uniform and glove. His first game is September 15 and we are all excited for baseball season
He had to practice that night with his new glove and ball
I also completed my second pinterest project. I have a slight obsession with scarves. I just collected them in a basket in our coat closet. I was tired of digging through the basket so I searched on pinterest and found this fun idea.
It's just shower curtain hooks and a coat hanger. Why didn't I think of this?
That about sums up our weekend.
Houston turns 1 in 1 week from today. Hard to believe. This time last year I was 25 weeks pregnant feeling great. Little did I know what God had in store of us just 7 days later.
Happy Monday!

Sky High Jump

Yesterday we took Landon to a new play place we heard about in Nashville. It's called Sky High Jump and its a huge room full of trampolines, trampoline walls and a fun foam pit that you can either rope swing into or jump into.
Here's Landon jumping on the trampolines
He was moving so fast I could not get a good picture of him

His favorite part was the foam pit and the rope swing
I also jumped with him and let me tell you that is some serious exercise. They didn't have a good way to get out of the foam pit but to climb your way out and that is what really wears you out and makes you sweat.
One of the guys that worked there told me you can burn at least 1000 calories in 1 hour by jumping on those things, we jumped for TWO.
Landon had a BLAST
Here are two videos from our fun new place

It was so FUN and we will definitely go back and take daddy

What's been going on

It's been a week since I last posted so I thought I would do a little catch up. Not a lot has been going on. We started our 2nd week of school today and so far so good. I really like my class and the boys are adjusting just fine, which I knew they would. Now that I have my 1st week of school behind me I'm in full party planning mode for Houston's 1st birthday in 2 short weeks.

I received his birthday shirt in the mail last week. His party theme is Rock Star. While Houston was in the hospital his doctors always called him a rock star because he was thriving so well and he was the rock star of the NICU. Since he has continued to be a rock star we wanted to celebrate him.
Cupcake toppers

Landon does not let me dress him in monogrammed clothes anymore and Houston does not care. So he showed off his lil bro shirt one day before school last week.
I also received this canvas of him last week. I had a groupon that expired so I had to use it and this was the cutest picture I had of him from Landon's birthday party. Now I have both my boys on the wall.
Speaking of both my boys, here they are Saturday morning.

That about sums up last week. Our calendars are getting full for the month of September and I don't see October being any better. I have lots of races coming up this fall. By races I mean running ones ;)
I am by no means a great runner, but I signed up for a half marathon (13.1 miles) in October so I have been busy training for that. I ran 7 miles on Saturday, the farthest I have ever ran and I didn't die, so I guess that's a start. ;o)
I'm off to run a little 4 miler tonight.
Happy Monday!!

First day of school

Today the boys and I had our first day of school. Summer went by so fast, but I am glad to be back into school and our routine.

Landon started Pre-K today and Houston started in the young toddler class
When I took this picture I noticed Houston was chewing on paper and that is whats sticking out of his mouth.
Of course this is the only picture that I was able to get with both boys looking at the camera, paper and all.

Landon trying to get Houston to look at the camera. Brother love right there.

Happy 1st day of school boys!!

You know I like to take blast from the past.

Houston is 11 months old

Our sweet, mild tempered, best baby ever, Houston turned 11 months old on August 3, 2012. Seriously, this baby turns 1 year old in less than 4 weeks. NOT possible.
Here is what our sweet baby boy has been doing

Weight: 21 to 22lbs
Size 3 diaper, about to be in a size 4
12-18 month clothes
Crawls EVERYWHERE
Started pulling to stand on EVERYTHING.
I walked in his room the other morning and he was standing up in his crib :o)
He's about to start the toddler room next week at MDO. Really the toddler room? I have a toddler already?
Still has blue eyes. Landon's changed to brown at this age, so I think Houston's will stay blue
Takes 7oz bottles 4 to 5 times a day
Self feeding is getting better as well as the sippy cup
LOVES yo baby yogurt, Gerber Melts and the Gerber Wagon Wheels
He got his 1st black eye this week. He ran into the corner of Jason's nightstand
Says "da-da"

Happy 11 months baby Houston. Cant wait for your 1st birthday party.
Your our little rock star!

Houston at 1 month old and now were 1 month from him turning 1 year old.

Our Weekend

Here is an overview of our weekend, iPhone picture style.

Thursday night Houston had his first sweet potato fry and LOVED it

We woke up Friday morning and watched cartoons
Jason was off work on Friday so we took the boys to the zoo one last time to see the dinosaur exhibit before  it closed this weekend. Landon's giving me his evil eye for some reason.
We said bye to my favorite dinosaur. The only one I liked from Jurassic Park
Houston rode on his 1st carousal ride
Saturday morning I woke up bright and early to run a local 5K
It was a HOT morning
It's tax free weekend in TN so I took advantage of it and bought my first pair of Chaco's.
I have been wanting these forever, but I have been waiting to take advantage of end of season sales and tax free weekend. I also realize I need a pedicure so I am going to get one of those today ;o)
School starts in one week from tomorrow so I am having to make 24 of these name tags for my kids this week

Jason took the boys to visit his parents today. I stayed back to pick up my consignment items that didn't sale, clip coupons, shop for groceries, blog and work on Houston's birthday invitations.
Speaking of birthday invitations our baby turns 1 year old in 4 weeks. Which reminds me I have not wrote his 11 month post yet. I need to add that to the list this week.

The boys and I start back to school next Monday. My school has open house tomorrow and Tuesday night. This is our last week at home for the summer. ;o) I'm kinda sad and kinda not. My baby starts Pre-K and my other baby starts the toddler room. I guess their not babies anymore.

OK time for the grocery store. Have a great week.

16 years of friendship and turning 30

My best friend for 16 years turned 30 this week and also officially became an OB/GYN this month. Jason and I went to Chattanooga last weekend for her surprise 30TH birthday party. Alicia and I meet in 1996 as freshmen in high school when we both ran for track. I really don't remember the exact moment we meet, but ever since that track season we have been friends ever since. A lot has happen to us in the last 16 years and lots of life changes. Several graduations from high school and colleges, moving to different cities, marriage, kids and Alicia becoming an official OB/GYN doctor of medicine this year.

Junior year of high school
We also played soccer for 4 years together

We were each others maid of honors at our weddings

We have stayed friends through thick and thin
Myself, Shannon and Alicia. Shannon and I went to middle school together. We have known each other for at least 18 years

At Alicia's 30th birthday party in Chattanooga. Emily, Alicia and I. Emily was also one of my bridesmaids in my wedding and I was one in hers. Jason and I introduced her and her husband Jaye to each other about 9 years ago. They just had a baby girl on April 9th, my wedding anniversary. Weird huh?
Old friends from middle and high school
Happy 30th birthday Alicia and congrats on officially becoming a OB/GYN doctor of medicine
