10 years together

Today marks the 10 year anniversary that Jason and I went on our first date. We meet in a communication class we shared together at college in January 2003. We actually sat at the same table next to each other for about 4 weeks until Jason decided to talk to me and then asked me to join him for his fraternity party as his date. Classy I know, but he asked and I was interested. ;o) After that night he asked me for an actual dinner date on February 1, 2003 and we have been together ever since.

Jason, thank you for 10 amazing years together. Looking back you have given me so much to be grateful for.  I look forward to many more memory making years with you and our two amazing boys.
I love you!

Mini Van Mom

Well it's official I am finally a mini van mom. I have been wanting a mini van since I was pregnant with Landon in 2008, but it just never happened. Then we had Houston in 2011 and we really started looking at them, but still never took the plunge just because we both had our cars paid for and really didn't want a car payment, especially since we were having NICU bills coming in. Well after 16 months since Houston's birth we finally bought a mini van. Our family of 4 was just too cramped in my 4 seater Altima.

We purchased a 2012 Toyota Sienna
It's an amazing van and I am absolutely loving it

It's so different from my Altima. I have been sitting low to the ground for 7 years in the Altima so sitting high up in the van is a whole new world to me.
There's so many fancy buttons, automatic doors and most importantly lots of storage and space
Here is my first picture about to drive the new van
LOVE LOVE LOVE my van and it was so worth the wait ;o)

Fun friday morning

This morning I walked into Houston's room to get him dressed and found this scene

Big brother Landon took all of Houston's toys out of his toy box and put them in his crib.
I knew they were in Houston's room playing really well together, but I didn't think that all the toys and stuff animals would be in the crib with them.
They were playing so well I just let them continue to play while I took advantage of the nice moment of peace and got myself dressed.

They make my day. LOVE them!!

Good week

We have had a great week with not a lot going on, which is kinda nice.

Friday we had a nice day, so along with a few friends, I took the boys to the Nashville Zoo. All the kids were so good and we really enjoyed the day there. Landon and Houston were the only boys ;o)

Friday night and Saturday the boys stayed with their nana and papa. They love going there because Landon gets to eat at Taco Bell and drink Dr. Pepper and Houston is held the whole time. ;o) They really love their grandparents.

My mother in law texted me these pictures of the boys playing in a box. Who needs expensive toys when all they really want to play with is a cardboard box.

I was clipping coupons the other night and I came across this mess in my kitchen. Houston pulled the papers off the chair and Landon decided to slide on them and make the mess. It kept them busy for about 30 minutes so I really didn't care about the mess.
Saturday the weather was beautiful, so I was able to get an 8 mile run in with these awesome ladies
Today was another beautiful day so I was able to get a little group together for a 4 mile run. This January weather is awesome for a runner.
\My second half marathon is in 3 weeks ;o)

The boys and I are off school tomorrow for MLK day. Not sure what we will do, but well find something to get into. Have a great week!

New Appliances

Well after seven years of patiently waiting Jason finally bought us new stainless steel kitchen appliances.

They really brought my kitchen into 2013

We have not had an ice maker in three years, our old one broke and we just never got it fixed. ;o) So it's SO nice not to buy bagged ice anymore. ;o)
The stainless steel really makes my red kitchen stand out

Amazing how as adults the things that excite us now

Update

Wow it's been over a week since I last posted. The boys and I started back to school this week after being off for 3 wonderful weeks for Christmas break. So other than going back to school not a lot has happen. There's just a few random things.

So I'm really big into running these days. All my running friends have Garmin watches. I keep up with my pace, distance, calories burned and time with my Run Keeper app on my iPhone, but it got to be hard trying to look at it while running and started to be inaccurate so I found a slightly used Garmin on craigslist. I still have not figured this thing out, but I ran with it last night and really liked it. Lots of great bells and whistles. My second half marathon is in 4 weeks ;o)
Not sure what Landon was doing here, but it kept him busy for a while jumping from one chair to the other.
Don't you just love the outfit?
My other silly boy was caught climbing into the cabinets the other night. He took most of the pots out of the cabinet and climbed on the top shelf all by himself. He was very happy being in there.
And in other big news, these beauties arrived at Jason's work today and are being installed in my kitchen on Monday afternoon. I am beyond excited to finally be getting new kitchen appliances. I have been patiently waiting 7 years for them and now they are mine. I actually might enjoy cooking for the next few weeks or at least days.

We are still looking at mini vans, we got our finance approved today so now were just waiting to find the perfect van for our family.

iPhone photos

Not a lot to blog about today. So I'm just going to post photos from the iPhone from the last few days.

Over Christmas break Houston was diagnosed with RSV. He had to have breathing treatments several times a time for almost a week. Fun times giving a 15 month old breathing treatments
Landon has been enjoying his new chair his nana bought him
Houston has become obsessed with the remotes along with our iPhones
I have been able to get a few good runs in over Christmas break. This was Saturday morning when the temperature was about 32 degrees and it was sleeting the whole 7 miles we ran. It may not sound like fun to some, but we had a blast. My second half marathon is Feb. 9th. so I have got to get those runs in.
Afterwards we ate breakfast at Panera Bread for warm food and drink
The other day on our way home I looked back and saw the boys asleep. It was a nice quiet drive home ;)

I hope everyone had a great New Years Eve and Day. It's cold and rainy here so were are all still in our PJ's  eating pizza and watching movies. We had an amazing 2012 and I really forward to seeing what 2013 has in store for us.

On a side note: Ok so we are going to make the plunge here in the next few weeks and buy a mini van. I have been in my Altima for 7 years and its a great car that I love, but a family of 4 using an Altima as their primary family vehicle isn't cutting it anymore. We need more space. So the plan is Jason is getting my Altima since we bought it new, its in excellent condition and it's paid for.
I'm looking at 2011 Odyssey or Sienna's. Are their any other vans that I need to look at? Any advice on what features to get or not? I have not bought a car in 7 years. We don't buy new, so it's used for us.

Thanks and Happy New Years
