A day in Chattanooga

Today I visited my home town Chattanooga, TN. I really miss Chattanooga and it has changed so much since I moved away in August 2004. I just made a day trip since Smyrna is only 1hr 45mins away from Chattanooga.

After the shower I drove over to my grandmother's house to visit before I headed home. When I arrived home Jason had dinner waiting, the house was cleaned and him nor Landon were in the hospital. I saw overall it was a great day!

1 week of school till summer break!

Potty Training 101

Landon had me up this morning at 5:50am. I was like seriously? UGH!! Do they sleep longer as they get older? He use to get up between 7am-7:30am everyday, but in the last few weeks he has been waking up between 5:30am-6:30am. What's up with that? Anyways since I am up I thought I would get by blogging done for the day.

About two weeks ago Landon and I were at the library and he had a dirty diaper. He opened his diaper bag up, took out a diaper and ran to the restroom and pointed to the changing table. I was OMG he is putting two and two together! So the next day I asked him if he wanted to go potty and he ran right to the bathroom. Here are some pictures of our 1st attempt at potty training. Since this was his 1st time I just kept his clothes on, but since then we have been taking his diaper off.

He has yet to actually go in the potty, but at least he is understanding what to do. We will work more on it this summer, but I am not pushing it. I want to make it fun and not seem like work.

Happy Mother's Day

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day today. We had a great day spending time with our families. I took a few great pictures of our day, but my computer is still not loading my pictures from the camera. I'm pretty sure my USB port has a virus and is not connecting to my camera. So that is my project for this week to try to get it fixed.
Jason got up with Landon this morning at 6:30am and I was able to sleep in till 7:45am. Trust me that is sleeping in for us. HA ;o) They brought me breakfast in bed and we all just spent time with each other hanging out in bed this morning. That was the best part of my day was spending time with two handsome men.
We had a great service at church. After church we ate lunch with Jason's mother and grandmother. For dinner Jason grilled out burger's for my mom and I. He even cleaned up. SCORE! We topped off our day with ice cream. I am very blessed to have such a wonderful and loving family. I am blessed to have a healthy and happy 22 month old son who made me his mother. Landon, everyday is different with you and at times I struggle at being the best mom I can be, but at the end of every day I thank God for making me your mother and I could not imagine my life any other way than the way it is at this moment.
I am blessed for having a mother and mother-in-law who loves our family, supports our family and are Godly leaders for our family. We love you GG and Nana!!

Two weeks till summer break!

Show Us Your Life-Baby Name

I thought this week's Show Us Your Life was cute so I decided to join in on the fun.
Baby Names was chosen this week. You post how you decided on the name of your child or children.

Landon's full name is Landon Collin Warf

The name Landon really didn't mean anything special to Jason or I. I first saw the name in the book A Walk to Remember and then the movie came out with Mandy Moore. Her love interest was named Landon. I was like OOO.. I like that name. I felt that it was a strong manly name and that it was a good name at any age. Jason liked it so when we found out we were having a boy we knew his name would be Landon.

Collin came from my mother's side. Her maiden name is Collins so we dropped the S and gave him Collin for his middle name. I like the idea of naming children after family member's that are very important to you and have played an important role in your life. My mom has played that role for me my entire life. So I wanted to honor her in that way. When we have our next child we will try to name them after a family member of Jason's.

For some reason my computer is not uploading my pictures from my camera. I will work on it tonight so hopefully I will have some new pictures up soon.

Two weeks till summer break!!

Due to bad weather we had to postpone Matt and Fallon's baby shower to today. We still had bad weather today and it is still raining. We were going to have this baby shower through hale or high water. Literally!!

The weather in the Nashville area has been horrible. We are under a massive flood watch. The riverside of downtown Nashville is under 50' of water and rising. Thousands of homes are under water and many are without power. Jason and I drove around a few of our streets today and most are clear, but there are many homes with flooded backyards inching up to their home. Several of our interstates to and from Nashville are underwater and all the surrounding schools are closed tomorrow. Our neighborhood has not had the 1st sign of possible flood. We have been very fortunate that we have not been affected by this great Nashville flood of May 2010. Please keep all those who lost their lives, homes or business the last two days in your prayers.

What a LONG week!!

This has been the longest and most challenging week EVER!!
First of all Jason had to go to Texas this week for work. He left Tuesday morning and returned Friday night. Let me tell you I have a new respect for single mother's. There were several times throughout the week I just wanted to cry. Working part-time and caring for a VERY energetic almost two year old BOY 24 hours a day was very challenging for me.
Tuesday I had to work a few extra hours so Landon and I did not leave school till 4:30pm. We met my mom at Chick-fil-a for kids night at 5pm. Landon acted so terrible we had to pack up our food and head home to finish eating. He kept throwing tantrums, wanted to run around the restaurant and would not sit still for nothing.
Wednesday I had a little girls night out planned. My mom came over to watch Landon for me. When I arrived at my destination I realized I left my 2 month old brand new cell phone on the back of my car while Landon and I were playing outside and drove off with it. I forgo ed GNO and began to backtrack to find my phone. Since it was brand new I wanted to attempt to find it. I didn't have insurance and a new cell phone would cost way to much. Needless to say I did not find it. I pulled off the roads and searched the ditches and still nothing.
Thursday Landon woke up with a 101.9 temperature and was feeling horrible all day. I called in for a sub and stayed home with him. The nice part of the day was that all Landon wanted to do was cuddle. He went to bed that night with a 103.9 fever. Tylenol was not helping him. I was sure he would be up all night, but he slept all night and did not wake up till 7am the next morning. I did find an old phone from two years ago and had that one activated with my number and the one I lost turned off.
FridayLandon woke up fever free and feeling good. I had to get a few errands done for a baby shower Saturday so we headed to Murfreesboro and he did pretty good on the errands. With him I have to get in and get out. There is no shopping around with him. Friday night Jason came home and took over daddy duty. ;o)I had my 1st shower for the day at 7pm
SaturdayWe woke up to terrible rain/hail/thunder storms. Possible tornado's all day. Jason and I have been cleaning and cooking preparing for the baby shower at our home. Jason went out to get the food and drinks and ended up stranded in a parking lot. The roads that surrounded our house were all under water and he could not pass them. Three hours later he finally made it home. The baby shower was postponed till tomorrow, I HOPE. We ended up having 7" of rain today and flooding all over Nashville. More rain and more flooding tomorrow. I am going to try to post a little video of a building floating down I-24 today and smashing into flooded cars.

I am so glad this week is almost over. I did not have time to take any pictures this week of little man. I hope the weather is better tomorrow and we are able to host our couples baby shower. Wish us luck!!
